Applications for the ESMO Fellowship Programme close on 3 May 2026. The programme offers global opportunities designed to nurture emerging talents in oncology and contribute to accelerating progress in cancer research worldwide.

The programme currently includes four major awards:

• ESMO Leadership and Career Development Award:
  • Duration: 1 year
  • Focus: Support emerging leaders in oncology worldwide for either a clinical or translational research focus or capacity building project while providing a leadership training programme.
  • Up to 30 awards available
• ESMO Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fellowship:
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Focus: Support young oncologists in developing innovative AI-drive approaches that connect data science to patient care.
• ESMO Digital and Computational Pathology Fellowship:
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Focus: Support early-career physicians to develop their knowledge of digital and computational pathology
• ESMO José Baselga Fellowship for Clinician-Scientists:
  • Duration: 3 years
  • Focus: Support the development of clinician-scientists in oncology
